From wang-wang to bang-bang? Hahaha!
It looks like we must brace ourselves for the coming of Typhoon Ramon, which might hit Cebu. As of press time, it is already signal one in Bohol, Leyte and Samar and the typhoon may strike the northern part of Cebu City. It is time for us to pray for some kind of divine intervention to prevent this calamity from falling upon us. Typhoon Ramon is also expected to pass through Mindoro, which could mean that its swath of rains might fall upon the areas that are still flooded. No doubt Mother Earth is sick, there’s too much rain in Asia and none in areas like the Middle East.

The Aquino administration came into power on the platform of change for the better with the slogan “Walang Mahirap kung Walang Korrupt” but instead we are getting the infamous KKK, which stands for Kaklase, Kaibigan at Kabarilan. The latest controversy involving Malacañang insiders is the issue that struck deep with Presidential Adviser for Political Affairs Ronaldo Llamas, where his aides Joey Tecson and John Alarcon were involved in a vehicular accident and those people who helped them after the accident found a high-powered firearm licensed to Mr. Llamas.
Palace spokesman Edwin Lacierda defended the accusations thrown against the Aquino administration of practicing a double standard, saying that the political adviser was not in the country when the accident happened and the two aides involved in that accident have already been fired. So should this mean that they are off the hook? If it were ordinary folks caught with the same firearm, surely the PNP won’t be too kind and immediately take steps to arrest the culprit and file criminal cases against them.
Quite timely, Llamas appeared on ANC anchored by Karen Davila who asked him why he kept an AK-47. Llamas replied, “It is the most powerful and affordable weapon.” I have always maintained that Llamas, who was once the former head of the leftist group Akbayan, is the Communist Party’s insider in Malacañang, after all Akbayan has been dubbed as one of the many allied front organizations of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP).
Meanwhile, Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Director General Nicanor A. Bartolome the other day ordered the Quezon City Police District to get the side of Llamas. Come on, this is a clear proof that things have not changed under the Aquino administration because the PNP should not wait to sit down with the political adviser first and get the investigation going already. More importantly, the Quezon City Police should not wait for orders from the higher ups if anyone is caught for illegal possession of firearms.
In his defense, Llamas explained that he needed a high-powered firearm to protect himself because of threats against his life. It makes you wonder who would threaten Llamas. The military who always are at odds against those allied front organizations of the CPP? Or perhaps the CPP itself because it seems that they are not getting the power sharing arrangement from the Aquino administration?
Now his former colleagues from the left like Teddy Casino and the others are saying that Llamas is abusive and has shifted the wang-wang mentality to bang-bang. One more proof that if the communists take over the Philippines nothing will still change. What is constant is that our political leaders would always believe that they are above the law. It makes you wonder that when the Presidential motorcade passes the main roads without the usual sirens because of their anti-wang-wang campaign, henceforth can we now say that all the vehicles in the Presidential car are armed to the teeth.

The whole world eulogized the late Steve Jobs last Friday when we learned of his passing, but now it can be told that his mother Joanne Schieble was a young unmarried college student who became pregnant but was unready to marry as her parents did not like her Syrian boyfriend. Rather than have the child aborted, she had him adopted and in 1955 Paul and Clara Jobs adopted a baby boy named Steven, who never got to know his biological father and perhaps someday we might know who he is.
Meanwhile, back in the 50s, an unwed mother had few options. This story would have been different if it happened today where abortions are funded by the US Government and contraceptives are as easy to get as chewing gum. Steve Jobs was far from perfect - he dropped out of college, became filthy rich and he was never known as a philanthropist. But he was a genius. Steve Jobs is one of the best examples why unwanted children should not be aborted.
