Woman gripes against noisy "estambays"

SIDEWALKS DRINKING. A resident of an uptown barangay called up The Ear to air her gripe against some “estambays” who sometimes make the waiting shed outside of her fence their drinking site. “Ineglawom na sa kagabhion magpundok sila sa waiting shed ug mag-inom og ilimnon makahubog,” she said. “Saba kaayo ug mga pedestrian mahadlok adto na sa pikas dan moagi.”

DURING PAYDAY. It’s not every night, though, that they do this. “Pero kon naa nilay makadawat og suweldo, moandar ang ilang kasaba,” the woman said. “Usahay mosuway pa sila’g pangilkil sa mga mangagi.” The caller pinpointed the waiting shed in question and The Ear has already passed it on to the barangay council.
