FREE RIDE FOR ALL. A man in crumpled barong tagalog boarded a Pardo-bound PUJ somewhere near the South Bus Terminal one Friday afternoon a week or two ago. Immediately he handed an undetermined amount of peso bills to the driver saying: “Amo ning tanan.” Meaning, he was paying for the fares of all passengers present and those who are yet to come until he reached his destination. “When he got down there was a chorus of ‘Daghang salamat’ from the passengers,” The Ear informer said.
WHO WAS HE? A woman passenger asked: “Kinsa man to siya?” A boy of about 15 who was with his Lolo answered: “Kaila ko ato niya ... mananari man to siya diha sa buwangan sa Carlock ... Nakadaug tingali ang mga hiniktan nga iyang gitarian.”
