The question is: Is it all right to use medicine that has passed the use-by date: The answer: “After its expiry date a medicine contains less than 95 percent of the active ingredient. Two weeks past the date is probably OK but not two years.”

 “Old medicines, particularly liquids such as eyedrops, may breed bacteria. Bubble or foil-wrapped tablets can’t be resealed and will absorb moisture. If you need only half an aspirin, throw the other half away.”
