The difference between Azkals and Pacman
Someone asked me: “What’s that garb that Lintang Bedol was wearing when he showed up at the Comelec?” I said it was a bullet-proof bib.

After reading the news about two Chinese men causing trouble onboard a Cebu Pacific airliner, a businessman who travels a lot by air suggested that airlines should hire in-flight bouncers.

I didn’t like what I heard on radio after the defeat of the Azkals in Kuwait. Someone called up the radio station and said: “Wa gyuy chance ang Azkals sa Kuwaitis. Tingbitay sa iro ron.”

Mayor Mike Rama has called Rep. Tom O a coward. Sir Mike just wanted to prove, maybe, that he is no longer afraid of the man he used to bow to either in respect or fear.

I just learned from Ma’am Flor Ynclino that my good friend and onetime colleague in media Judge Romulo “Moling” Sinining has passed away. Moling was the first editor of The FREEMAN (the revived edition).

Even if he was the editor, Moling took it upon himself to go out in the field to cover important events. I remember we teamed up in TF’s coverage of the visit here of the Miss Caltex beauties in 1988 (?). My heartfelt condolences to Moling’s bereaved family.

E-mail from Mart Rivas of Manila: “What’s the difference between the Azkals and Manny Pacquiao? The Azkals are fighting for the PHL flag while Manny is fighting for personal glory. He is not the official boxer of the Philippines. The Pinoy nation only shares his glory.”

Mr. Rivas said the title “Pambansang Kamao” was given to Manny by a TV station not by the PHL government. The view expressed here is the personal opinion of reader Mart Rivas not mine, although I am inclined to share it.
