What God didn't join together...

HAVE BAT WILL STRIKE - Juanito V. Jabat   -

Juan Manuel Marquez’s trainer says Marquez will beat Manny Pacquiao. That’s according to the trainer’s mouth. Manny’s fists might have a different say.

I asked my friend Nelson Sy what he thinks of these same-sex marriages. His answer was kind of classic: “What God did not join together, let any man put asunder.”

I was also asked: “What is your take on the same-sex marriages? Be honest.” I said my take is it’s the key to population demotion.

The BO-PK guys at City Hall say they’re not politicking. The next election is still far away. That’s why they didn’t want to listen to Hizzoner’s SOCA?

The Cebu City dads take offense on being called “rubber stamps.” Gone are the days of the rubber stamp. Xerox copying is now “it” and it’s more classy.

The 16 new cities have scored again. The Supreme Court has dumped (“gibasura”) the second reconsideration bid of the League of Cities of the Philippines (LCP). Someday, nay, years from now, the “fathers” of these cities can take pride in telling the people that they went through a lot of hardship to win the cityhood for their respective cities.

Norman Regalado, a native Cebuano who has been residing in Aklan, has been on a one-man drive to help upgrade the Caticlan-Boracay airport. He does his drive by writing letters to the editors calling on public support for the improvement of the Boracay airport.

In a letter to me as editor of Banat News, Mr. Regalado said the government has already set aside a big amount for the upgrading of the Caticlan-Boracay airport but, he said, the Aklanons fear the amount might go to other projects. “That is why I am writing to editor’s hoping they would help realize the said project in Aklan.”

With this space given to Norman Regalado I hope I have pitched in to his one-man drive. It’s good to think that a Cebuano living outside of Cebu is unselfishly contributing to the development of a province that needs help.
