This according to a now retired GAB official who said that errors like that could easily inflame local fans. He recalled that a bottle-throwing incident happened after a referee made a mistake in judgment at the coliseum here some years ago.

GAMBLING. The same GAB official said betting in boxing bouts could result in a riot the moment an error in judgment is committed by a referee. “Nalambigit man gud ang pusta dili lang ang dungog sa boksidor,” the GAB official said. “That’s why betting should never be allowed during boxing events.”
