EDITORIAL - Happy Easter!
Millions across Christendom have different ways to go on with their lives today, Easter Sunday. While some would go to churches or other religious sites to culminate the Holy Week observance, others would opt to troop to the beach or any resorts to beat the searing summer heat.
Any celebration would always come with different activities. However, whatever we are doing today should be centered on the importance of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
It is undeniable that many Christians failed to grasp the real meaning of Christ's resurrection. They are just contented to go with the flow in this Easter Sunday celebration without understanding the reason why Christ had to endure man's cruelty to save the world.
The Bible teaches us how God loved mankind so much that He gave his only son to us to deliver us from evil. When God sent Christ to the world, He had a purpose - which is to give hope to mankind. And that hope has brought redemption to those who truly believe in Him.
God did not send His son to the world to teach us a lesson because we have become sinners. Christ had a sole purpose of bringing back man's sacredness that had been tainted with sin. He wanted man to triumph against the forces of evil through His love for him.
Had it not for His grace and love, mankind would have lost the battle. Man would have been forever a slave by the forces of darkness. There would have been no hope, no salvation.
But God does not want to lose mankind. He had to do something to protect man from evil. So He sent His son to show to mankind that there is hope and salvation for those who believe in Him.
And through the death of Christ there has been salvation. He redeemed mankind through His blood, yet many still opted to continue threading the path of evil. God had given man a chance to salvation. Now, it's up to us. Surrendering to His will is our only hope for eternal life.
Today Christ has risen from the dead. Let us rejoice for through His blood we have been saved.
Happy Easter!
