Reader: Lotto player tries to bribe God
ISN’T THIS BRIBERY? This question was asked by an Ear reader who said: “A woman neighbor of mine bought two Suwertres Lotto tickets with the same number combination. One of the tickets she hid under the statue of a Saint on her altar, the other she kept in her bag.” The woman explained that if the two tickets won, she would keep the winnings from the ticket in her bag, while the other she give to the church as “balato.”
DOUBTFUL NEIGHBORS. But the Ear reader expressed doubt the woman would give the winners from the ticket set aside for the church to the church. “Maldita nang babayhana.
