Postal problems

POST DISSERVICE. A mediaman’s mother has observed that for several years the letters from her friend in the US would arrive partly torn at the edges. She said it doesn’t look torn as if by accident, but on purpose. She added that to justify the torn part, the post staff would put a mark on the check box saying that the letter was received already partly torn. Others are: Flap with tape, open, partly opened, left edge torn, right edge torn, crumpled, dirty and wet. She said, “It’s the same style pirmi ang pagka gisi through the years. I think this is done to check if naay dollars inside.”

FOREIGN COMMENT. A foreign-born priest also wants to ask other readers of The FREEMAN for their experience with the postal services. “Why do so many private postal services flourish even though they are more expensive than the gov’t postal services?”
