I received this brochure titled “Live Joyfully.” It came from The Christophers of New York whose advocacy is to spread happiness the world over. It says that for being joyful we are pleasing God ... because we are showing Him our appreciation for the life He gave us.

Even before I received this brochure I have already been living joyfully, my problems, including my ill health, notwithstanding. In Matthew 6:25, 27, 34, it says: “Do not worry about your life ... can any of you by worrying add a single hour to your span of life?” In other words ... don’t worry, be happy.

My good friend Dr. Salcedo “Sal” Lim always brought me for “sinugatan” good quality coffee. This time he gifted me with the book “Truth and Duty” by Marie Mapes. It’s a very thought-provoking book about the US press, the US President and the privilege of power in Washington, DC. Thanks a lot Sal.

Dr. Sal Lim and his wife Fe (formerly with the Cebu City health office) now live in San Jose, CA. Sal used to be active in city politics until his camp (Serging O) showly disappeared from the local political scene and he found himself migrating to the States.
