MOURNER. A 42-year-old father has an unusual means of livelihood that has enabled him to send his three children to college. He is a professional mourner. He mourns — with real tears in his eyes — at the funeral of dead people, mostly Chinese. He is known, according to him, as the most sought-after mourner in the Vis-Min area.
WITH FEELINGS. This pro mourner says when he mourns, he does it with feelings, even if the dead is unknown to him. “Kun ako mobakho agas gyud ang luha hasta pa sip-on,” he said. “Realism,” matud niya, “maoy yawe ngadto’s maayong bayad.”
