Young beggars gang up on tourists

JUANA OSMEÑA BLVD. Recently, two Asian women were seen walking along Juana Osmeña Blvd. when they were pounced on by a group of dirty-looking kids who pulled on their dresses and asked for alms. The women ignored them and started walking fast but the young beggars dogged on their heels and started pulling on their bags. Terrified, the women screamed and ran away. The informer said, "Gipang harass sa mga bata ang mga turista nga mo-agi diri ug diha sa Fuente. Mauwaw ta's atong mga bisita uy. Mao diay ni atong ipakita sa mga turista?"

YOUNG PICKPOCKET. An Ear informer said that there seems to be a syndicate using children ages 10 and below to victimize foreign tourists in Cebu City. An informer also saw a group of young beggars, who performed the same modus operandi, also along Juana Osmeña Blvd. The kids swarmed around the foreign tourist and grabbed his arms while another grubby boy reached into his right back pocket to fish out what was inside. Luckily, an onlooker shouted at the kids who ran away. The informer said, "Asa man ang kapolisan? Kinahanglan aksyonan dayon ni sa gobyerno."
