Not much money from their votes

OVERHEARD. Two middle-aged women on board a PUJ were talking about the recent barangay elections. One of the two was heard saying: "Bati tong eleksiyona oy. Gamay ra among nasapi ... Pulos pordoy mga kandidato sa amoa." The other woman replied: "May gani nakasapi mo. Sa amoa kay sardinas ray gipanghatag."

UNAFRAID. An Ear informer said people in his barangay did not speak in whispers about the vote-buying that took place even during the campaign prohibition. "Mga kandidato ug mga pumipili parehong wa na mahadlok molapas sa balaud," someone was hard saying: "Wa mahadlok sa Comelec ... Ipanghambog pa ang halin sa ilang botos."
