Honest cabbie dismayed when he returned cellphone

LEFT IN TAXI. A taxi driver and his passenger, a mediaman, had a casual chat while on route to Lapulapu City. The topic turned to items left behind by passengers. The mediaman said, “Ikaw ‘Bay, unsaon man nimo kung naay mahabilin sa taxi?” To which the cabbie replied, “Kung makabantay ko, ako gyud i-uli sa tag-iya dayon. Pero kung layo na gani, dili na. Tagam na ko.”

ONLY FIFTY. The cabbie said that one time a Japanese national who works in Mactan left his cellphone inside his taxicab. The driver noticed the cellphone when he was already in Cebu City. The honest cabbie traveled back all the way from Cebu City to Mactan in the middle of the night to return the cellphone. But to his dismay, the Japanese only gave him P50 for his effort. He driver said, “Ang iyang gihatag kuwang pa gani sa pang gasolina. Dili baya sala nako. Siya man ang gadanghag.”
