Reader: Is it OK to maul a murder suspect?

MAULED SUSPECT. An Ear informer saw several bystanders maul a murder suspect in an urban barangay until he was black and blue. Because of his cuts and bruises the suspect had to be hospitalized. The informer said, “Gigukod sa mga bugoy ang suspect unya pagkakuwelyo, gitabangan og kulata. Gisumbag, gipatiran ug dukdok og bato ang suspetsado maong nilanding sa ospital.”

LIABILITY. The informer said he can empathize with the residents who were upset that one of their neighbors was brutally murdered. But he asked a mediaman if the bystanders who mauled the murder suspect are criminally liable. He said, “OK ra ba na nga kulatahon ang suspetsado?”
