Collecting crocs
A young campus journalist visited me for an interview. Among the questions she asked was: "Who is your favorite actor?" I quickly answered: "Humphrey Bogart." She looked at me with eyebrows raised as if to ask. "Who he?"

Then I asked her about her favorite actor. She said: "I have many favorites, Sir, but my current fave is Aljur." It was my turn to raise my eyebrows but I didn't ask: "Who he?"

Many of those who helped in Noynoy's campaign are, I believe, hoping to be appointed to some government posts. But I also believe many of them will be dis-appointed.

Unsolicited advices are flying thick and fast along P.Noy's way. Some advices are actually demands for him to do this or that tomorrow. Some newspaper headlines to this effect are ... "Noynoy Asked to Stop Red Tape" ... "Noynoy Told to Stop Toll Hike" ... "Noynoy Told to Go After Smugglers" "Initiate Reforms in Making Budget, Joker Tells Noy" .... "Noy, Stop Abuses Against Journalists" ... "Noynoy Asked to Hike Cops' Pay" ... Etc., etc.

Did you know that it was President Cory Aquino who authored the line "unsolicited advice?" It was she who first said this upon getting apparently fed up with advices left and right from columnists. Correct me if I'm wrong. I'm always ready, willing and able to stand corrected. Hehe.

I read somewhere that the biggest crocodile collection is in Britain. I know of another country in whose government are found a much bigger collection of crocs. These crocs are blamed for the economic slowdown of that country.

E-mail from Cornelio Lipardo: "I have the highest respect for President P.Noy Aquino's intelligence and capacity to lead. But deep in my heart I believe he needs a miracle from Heaven to succeed in his desire to clean the government of corruption. We all want a corruption-free government that's why am praying hard that Noynoy will succeed in putting all the corrupt people in government in jail."

Mr. Lipardo said he's willing to donate substantial amount for the construction of more jails to lock up the corrupt "somomaguns" who have made life bitter for us Filipinos. "No kidding," he said.

I agree with Banat News columnist Tolin de la Serna when he said that winners in the last elections are not obligated to thank those who voted for them in the polls. And those who voted for them (winners) should not expect to be thanked. Why? Because it is the duty of voters to vote. Indeed, when it's your duty you got to do your duty without thinking whether or not there's a "thank you" waiting for you.

Thanks to the Catholic Charismatic community leader (name withheld for the time being) for offering to help me do away with anxiety and stressful moments amid my illness. But I'm OK. I only suffer from stressful moments when I'm writing and then all of a sudden there's a brownout.
