Reader: Monitor Internet cafés that offer games

- The Ear -

INTERNET DISTRACTION. Now that the new school year has started, concerns of children skipping school to go to these Internet cafés have again been raised. The reader, a mother of four, said that her children are often distracted from their studies and go into these Internet cafés near their school instead of going inside their classrooms. She said two of her children flunked school because of their “addiction” to these games. She said, “Nabuang na man sa internet. Abi nako’g mosulod sa eskwelahan, didto man hinuon sa internetan nisulod. Didto na ko nakabalo nga wala diay sulod-sulod ni sila pagkahagbong na nila.”

NOT NEAR SCHOOLS. She is asking school heads to monitor Internet cafés that offer games. She also said that the government should not allow Internet cafés near schools. She said, “Dili angay tukuran og internetan duol sa eskwelahan kay lisud pagbantay namong mga ginikanan. Maayo unta og makatabang ang eskwelahan og monitor nila.”
