Assembly plant of babies?

HAVE BAT WILL STRIKE - Juanito V. Jabat   -

I just read this. According to Ripley a 105-year-old Malaysian man is married to a 22-year-old woman. So what? Didn't Shakespeare tell us long ago that lovers need eyeglasses? Hehe.

Cebu has been named "Best Honeymoon Destination" during the World Trade Fair in Shanghai. My friend Teddy says that makes Cebu the best assembly plant of babies of different nationalities.

"Now that GMA will soon be no longer the head of state, the group photos of Asean leaders lining up for posterity shots will no longer be marred by a 'small rose' among the big thorns." This from Anthony Lanusa of T. Padilla St. I get what he means. Getz you, too?

Twenty-one people were killed and 24 others were injured when a tourist bus lost its brakes and plunged into a ravine along the Transcentral Highway in Balamban. Now that it has happened, authorities will be moving to have all tourist buses' safety features checked. Expect that. It's our nature to make the sign of the cross after lightning has struck.

The death of 21 Iranians in that tourist bus tragedy is a bad shot for our tourism industry. It shows in effect that we don't give much attention to the safety of our tourists although that Balamban incident could be an isolated case.

Now that this tragedy has happened it behooves our tourism authorities to give a thorough check on the worthiness of our tourist facilities, including the buses.

A high school teacher asked one of his students how they dispose of leftovers on the dining table. The student, according to the teacher, scratched his head and asked: "Unsa man nang leftovers, sir?"

Leftovers are now only found in the homes of rich families. In most average Pinoy families nothing is left over. There's even a joke making the rounds that because of scarcity of food even the fruits painted on the tablecloth are eaten. Just a joke, I said.
