Pinoys politically mature now?
Let me start by answering the question of a mother in Busay. She texted: “Tagpila man magpatuli sa doktor sa ospital?” Not she but her two little boys.

I made inquiries from two lady interns at the CDH. They laughed as if to ask: “Wa pa diay ka?”

Kidding aside, I was told that some doctors charge P1,000; some others more. There’s a cheaper one where the “sanggot” is used, but that I won’t recommend it.

The Central Bank says the five-centavo coin is still in circulation. It’s that tiny coin which the grandson of a golfer-friend calls a “hole-in-one coin.”
* * *
He calls it that because the coin has a hole in the middle. One plumber I know calls that “gasket coin”.

Seriously now, have us Pinoys become politically mature? Two Freeman readers don’t think so, the kind of candidates we voted for in the last elections is their basis.

Reader Pampee Barcenas of Carcar City said in statement in this paper’s “Text Views” column: “Di pa gyod ta politically mature kay naa pa may mibotar ni Erap, ni Jinggoy Estrada, ni Bongbong Marcos ug ni Juan Ponce Enrile.”

Bobby Cruz of Cebu City said in the “Text Views” column: “The people finally voted for a good man for President but I am amazed that Erap came in 2nd. My God, Erap a crook, still came in second.”

I have a friend who used to be the spokesman of a big power firm. He’s leaving for the States soon because he’s disgusted that we chose candidates who didn’t deserve to win even as we ignored those deserving our votes.

A news report from Antique says a woman councilorial candidate who lost to her male opponent bit his ears, severing a good part of it. If you can’t beat ’em, bite ‘em? Only Mike Tyson does that.

I have observed that many congressmen are now trying to make buddy-buddy with Noynoy Aquino. “Natural,” says my friend and kumpadre Teddy. “Mahadlok magpuasa.”
