Readers: Siete Palabras on TV appreciated but distracting

- The Ear -

FOR THE SICK. Readers expressed their appreciation for the local television station who televised the Seven Last Words or Siete Palabras especially for those who were sick or unable to go to church last Good Friday. Some, however, said that it was distracting. They said that the priests and some of the male singers looked comical.

PRIESTS WITH MAKE-UP. Televiewers of the Siete Palabras shown on a local tv channel appreciated the homily of the many priests but said they got distracted by the comic-like make up applied to the priests and male singers. The viewers noticed that the priests were applied with thick foundation powder and lipstick. The staff of a beauty parlor commented on this and said that the tv station’s makeup artist did a poor job. One gay staff said, “Yot, puti kaayo ang foundation sa mga pari unya ang gigamit nga lipstick glossy pa gyud. Kaluoy sa mga pari.”
