Lost and found in the Internet age

- The Ear -

LOST. The Entertainment editor of this paper forgot her laptop onboard a taxi last Wednesday morning. Frantic, she went to church and prayed (to all the saints, she said) that the item be found by a good person. She also asked the help of other mediamen in print and radio.

FOUND. Virginia Tubalado, 44, of Bantayan Island, a medical secretary at Perpetual Succor Hospital got onboard that same taxi that day and found the editor’s laptop. The driver, at first, said that he’d be the one to return the laptop but the good woman insisted that she be the one to return it.

THANKS TO THE INTERNET. This good Samaritan asked her nephew, Kim Gil, for help in getting the owner’s info from the laptop. The nephew then went online, and sent the editor an email through Facebook. The two chatted online and the laptop was eventually returned by this kind person, thanks to the Internet.
