Beware of the scam call

PHONE CALL. A rich businesswoman who is also a media personality told The Ear that she got a landline call from a girl who claimed she was Marie Lopez. The caller told her that her husband’s name has been selected from a customer list and he won a prize. This Marie Lopez told her to go to Ma. Fe Reyes at the Arresta booth in Parkmall to claim the prize. She said, “She gave me a PIN. I never went. She doesn’t even know where that mall is.”

INSURANCE SCAM. This same media personality also told The Ear that her sister got a similar call from an insurance company. Fortunately, her sister knows somebody from that company who told her to ignore it. She said, “Obviously, this is an ongoing scam.”
