Protesting without knowing the meaning of Charter change

- The Ear -

LEAVE HIM ALONE. During the militant’s protest rally here last Monday, a brave looking man with dark goggles and a piece of red cloth wrapped around his head was asked by a Caucasian man (apparently a mediaman) what in his opinion was wrong with the cha-cha in the placard he was brandishing. The man said: “Hawa diha ... wa kay labot.” Someone translated the meaning of what the man said and the Caucasian man nodded and walked away.

IN THE DARK. A college instructor told a mediaman that many of the militant rallyists holding placards denouncing cha-cha do not understand and are in the dark about what they’re rallying or protesting against. “Sayod ko ini,” he said, “kay duha ka truck drivers nga among silingan nga niapil sa rally ug nagdala’g anti-cha-cha placards did not even know the complete words of cha-cha.”
