BLUNDER. A reader told The Ear that Erap’s statement accusing Cebuanos of cheating during the 2004 elections did not do anything to endear him to the Cebuanos he is supposed to be courting. The reader, a retired military officer said, “Erap committed political suicide with that statement. Mora niya’g gisabotahe iyang kaugalingon nga pangandoy nga modaug pa siya diri sa Cebu. Nalimtan na unta to sa ubang Cebuanos iyang accusation before, pero iya pa gyung gibalik. Ako pa ato niya, nihilom na lang unta siya.Tsk! Tsk!”
CIGARETTE MONEY? A newspaper editor criticized the Sulu vice governor who gave 50K to the ASG supposedly for “cigarette money”. She said, “Iya man hinuon gi pamper. Sugot lang siya nga naay mga bandido sa iyang probinsiya. Madam X na siya sa kidnapping diha?” Another mediaman commented, “Something very fishy about her. Maayo unta kung hoping siya nga ang ASG mangamatay sa lung cancer tungod sa iyang ‘cigarette money’.”
