Judge Lorenzo Paradiang listed in his column last Saturday a wide variety, so to speak, of people aspiring to be President. They are many - so many - for us to choose our wild. As if they’re used things in an ukay-ukay joint.

One of them Sir Paradiang branded as “demigod.” He heads a religious group whose members follow everything he tells them to do. Like jumping seven times to have their request granted by God. Like inverting their umbrellas to hold the graces falling from heaven.

Election must go on as scheduled on May 10, 2010. Who said so, you ask? I said so. So what?
* * *
Kidding aside, my position is (as if you’d care) the law must be followed. It says election must be in May 2010. So let’s have it on the day the law says it must be. Period.

US Ambassador Kristie Kenny stresses that Washington says no to “no-el” or “no election.” And her government also believes in “term limits.” Which means that no going beyond your terms as set in the Constitution.
* * *
So what, you say? Hehe! If you’re head of state and you want to go beyond the term limit, do it. Ignore Washington. Then wait for it to call you and tell you: “Cut and cut clean.”

As I was about to move on to another subject, I caught sight of this headline in the Philippine STAR: “GMA Tells US There Will be Election in 2010.” I’m not saying Ate Glo is afraid of one day being told to “cut and cut clean.” Hehe!

My good friend Jaycee Sen. Max Encomienda, who is known as “The Messenger” to many of his friends, continues to send me messages that help strengthen my faith in God. Max, who hails from Mabolo, Cebu City, is now a resident of Australia, from where he touches base with friends at home.

Max is the only Cebuano I know who has written a Holy Bible—actually his interpretation of the Scriptures. It’s called “The Holy Bible, The Messenger Edition.” He spent much time, money and effort to come up with the Book which has been hailed in media reviews as, among others, something new and revealing.

Katrina Halili drew huge crowds in two shopping malls last Saturday. First at Gaisano Main, then at the Gaisano Country Mall. Her having “starred,” as it were, in the controversial sex video was what packed them in. One comment heard in the crowd: “Mao diay na siya?”
