Call it ladies-lature
It has been observed that more and more lady politicians are landing in Congress. That is, in the ladies-lature, right? I have been told they're doing well, our ladies-lators!

E-mail from Lenora Achuberri, a Cebuana in Manila: "Katrina Halili is crying a river. I pity her. When she went to have sexy fun with Hayden Kho she never thought perhaps he would record their fun on video." Yes, Lenora, she never thought her BF had a Hayden agenda, right?

Is this true? RP's ambassador to Washington Willy Gaa was axed for failing to take President Arroyo's photo with US President Barack Obama -- even if he had been designated to act as photographer. Now he'll lose his job in just one click.

A lawyer friend says that the Philippines, being a free country, anyone here can berate a mayor, a governor and even the President and get away with it. "But don't ever try to berate a Citom traffic enforcer or any Citom-deputized elements; you won't get away with it," he warned. Thanks for the warning, torney.

My friend and media colleague Art Maloloy-on, known in local media circles as Art Maloy, has passed away. During his prime, Art, known as a top-quality entertainer/humorist, brought joy to our community with his wholesome jokes on stage and radio. God bless him.

When Martial Law was declared and media outfits were closed leaving many mediamen jobless for a while, Art, the humor-loving person that he was, still managed to play a joke on his name. "Bida, Bay, kining kalaki ni kuan oy," whispered Art not mentioning the name of "kuan" fearing the presence of PC agents around. "Imbes Maloloy-on ta nahimo na nuon tang Makalolooy."

I have been watching the Malacañang press conferences on tv where Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita acts as host. He's cool. I mean he conducts the presscon very ably and, yes, very cooly. He answers questions in a manner that gives the interviewer satisfaction. He gives importance to every question asked regardless of whether or not the question deserves that importance. A reflection of his fine manners and his respect for the press. No wonder, one Manila reporter told me: "I never fail to attend the Malacañang presscon basta si Sir Ermita ang nandiyan."

Governor Gwen Garcia was not kidding when she said she would sue the three oil companies which were selling gasoline in Cebu at a higher price than the prices in Manila and Mindanao. She filed her complaint before the Department of Justice. One Capitol friend of mine said: "Tan-awa among boss, o, di lang moyawit paras anang uban diha, maninuod gyud." Asked who he meant by "paras anang uban diha," my Capitol friend just laughed and said: "Imo man gyud tang ibutang sa apiki ... Migo ta dili?" Hehe!
