Jeepney passengers now scared of Influenza A H1N1 spread

CEBU, Philippines – Covered Face. The Ear informer said that even jeepney passengers are now scared of the swine flu virus or the Influenza A H1N1, commonly spread through droplet spray or by coughing or sneezing. Passengers can be seen covering their nose and mouth. Women use dainty tissues or hankies and on several instances, men could also be seen covering their face with hand towels or scarves. The informer said, “Naa koy makit-an nga lalaki nga magtabon sa ilang nawong, morag tulisan og dagway.”

PARANOIA. Yesterday, the informer was onboard a Colon-bound jeepney from Talamban when a male passenger at the end part of the jeep started coughing uncontrollably. The people sitting beside him and in front of him quickly transfered to another seat, away from him. People looked at him like he indeed has the dreaded flu virus. Embarrassed, the male passenger quickly got off the jeepney along Sikatuna St. The Ear informer said, “Basin gihutoy ra gud to siya, apan ang mga pasahero, nakuyawan nga basin naa siya’y swine flu virus.”
