Cardinal's apology in line with the prayer God gave us

THE CARDINAL’S APOLOGY. The Cebu Archbishop’s expression of apology for the shortcomings of the Church (see this newspaper’s banner story yesterday) was hailed by a lot of people as a step in the right direction and should be emulated by the lower officials of the church. The Archbishop (His Eminence Ricardo Cardinal Vidal) lived up to a portion of the prayer Our Father which goes: “Forgive us our trespasses ...” Or so many observers pointed out.

POLITICIANS. One observer said: “Has there been any local political leader who had asked for forgiveness for his or her shortcomings?” The good Cardinal has set an example, the observer said; our government/political leaders should try following that example.
