If their "amen" could be made into votes
Appetizer to make your day from John Rey Saavedra of my favorite tab Banat News:
WOMAN: Dok, gusto ko unta mabata ko tan-awon. Pila man ang magasto nako?
DOKTOR: Mga Pl45,000.
WOMAN: Oy, kamahal. Wa bay cheaper?
DOKTOR: Naay barato. Sa P20 mahimo kang mora’g bata tan-awon. Pagpalit og tsupon.

Some people are reckless, to say the least, in addressing their letters. But their recklessness I welcome as it makes my day. I get a good laugh at their recklessness. Or isn’t it just their error committed in good faith?

One letter sent to me had this address: “V. Gullas corner Manalili Sts.” There was someone who sent a letter of complaint to “Atty. Juan Jabat, Director in Chief, Freeman news Daily, D. Jakosalem corner Bacalso Sts.”

Note: Don’t call me attorney because I’m not. Kasuk-an ta sa mga attorney nga mora’g dili attorney. Hehe. I always make a correction whenever some people call me attorney for fear of being a poseur.

A Cebuano writer in Mindanao keeps addressing his letters and articles to ... “Banat Balita, Gullas Blvd., Cebu City.” And someone in Manila addressed his letter to me this way: “The Newspaper Publisher of Freeman, Gullas-Mananlili St. corner Oxford St., Cebu City.” Hehehe.

I read in my favorite Manila broadsheet that El Shaddai founder Mike Velarde has expressed his intention to run for President. His followers are hopeful he’d win. If he does, he’ll be the first President in the world to wear a violet coat.

Shootings in school premises where many kids are injured and/or killed have happened in the US and Europe. I am proud to say that such kind of senseless and dastardly acts have never happened in the Philippines. Even if foreigners say we’re No. 1 not only in corruption but also in murder.

So President Barack O has finally called up Ate Glo. Look, it was not our girl who made the first call. Didn’t I say here before that time would come that the “evasive” Barack O would call our Ate Glo (who had been intawon moving heaven and earth to talk with him) when the need (his need) arose?

Well, Barack O’s need did arise — the need for him to ask RP to keep the VFA agreement intact. Oh, no problem. Ate Glo would only be too happy to accommodate to please the powerful President of the most powerful nation on the planet. Ah, never mind the noisy anti-American militants.
