LGUs, private sector should help WWII veterans
DYING HEROES. Readers called up The Ear to say that they were touched by news reports of World War II veterans having a difficult time in processing their claims for the $9,000 benefits package from the US. Many of the war veterans came from different provinces of Bohol, Siquijor and Negros Oriental.
HELP THEM. A daughter of one of the veterans expressed difficulty in helping her father process his papers since they are from Negros Oriental and don’t have relatives in Cebu. She is suggesting that the Local Government Units should help these veterans to lighten the load of these war heroes. Mas maayo sab kung ang private sector and civic groups can help in their own little way.
