INSULTING THE LORD. The nine-day Misa de Gallo has started. This is a beautiful Christmas tradition among Catholic Christians. But one priest has expressed his dismay over the way some people observe this tradition. “Ila rang gihimong kalingawan,” he told The Ear. “Moadto’g simbahan aron lang maglingaw-lingaw. Naay uban matug sud sa simbahan samtang padayon ang Misa.” He said these people are insulting the Lord in whose honor the Misa de Gallo is celebrated.
NOT REQUIRED. The same priest said no one is required or compelled to go to church during the Misa de Gallo only to sleep while the Eucharistic celebration is going on or to eat in some makeshift food stalls. “Mas maayo pang di nalang nila tagdon ang bagting sa kampana ug padayon nalang sa ilang katug sa ilang bay ... sa ingon di pa nila mainsultohan ang Ginoo,” the priest said.
