Finding treasure in trash

- The Ear -

CASH IN TRASH. At a coffeeshop The Ear heard that the topics of conversation was mostly on the discovery of cash in yen roughly worth P3 million in a garbage dump. Many posed questions like whether or not the scavengers should return the money and if there are legal consequences to their spending the money away. A regular patron of the café also asked if the adage “finders keepers” will hold true in this case. Another asked, “Unsay mahitabo sa mga basurero nga naka diskobre sa kuwarta? Unsaon sila sa NBI kung ma-identify na nila ang mga tawo nga nagbahin-bahin sa kuwarta?”

MORE VISITORS IN DUMPSITE. Whatever the consequences of this cash discovery, armchair analysts are saying to expect more visitors in the Calamba dumpsite. “For sure, daghan na unya manguykoy diha sa dumpsite. Ayawat na lang, maka jackpot usab sila.”
