LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Reproductive Health Bill is not anti-religion

I wish to express my support for House Bill 5043 (Reproductive Health Bill). Having read the detail, I find it constitutional and well-crafted to educate both youths and adults alike about their bodies' reproductive functions.

Socially, I don't think HB5043 promotes promiscuity but rather it will encourage people to be careful and knowledgeable when it comes to sex. Such knowledge easily complements the essence of abstinence and family growth.

With HB5043, women will become more cautious about unwanted pregnancies, new couples can manage how to build a family carefully, and others can evade sexually-transmitted diseases.

There is nothing "anti-life" or "anti-religion" about the bill. I also wish to add that Cebu's youth can not afford to grow up ignorant about sex and their reproductive health.

HB5043 is a landmark and socially-important bill that I believe we Cebuanos must support. I vote YES for it.
