KEEPING ATTUNED. Filipinos in the US, especially those who come from the Visayas and Mindanao, are seriously keeping themselves attuned to the developments in Mindanao because of the controversial Government-MILF deal on the granting of autonomy to the Bangsamoro over certain areas in Muslim Mindanao.
A Cebuano mediaman in California told The Ear, via the Internet, that the Bangsamoro Juridical Entity agreement “is the most assailed move ever made by the Arroyo government.”
He said a survey made by a Vis-Min association showed “not one Mindanaoan has come up in favor of this deal.”
A CHRISTIAN LEADER’S QUERY. A leader of an “armed Christian group” in Mindanao has taken umbrage at the query of a peace panel official (government side), asking if the Christians’ who have armed themselves have secured firearm permits from the government.
The Christian leader asked: “Are the MILF’s firearms licensed?”
