Cebu spared once again from typhoon “thanks to Sto. Niño”

- The Ear -

GOD’S WILL. A woman dressed in “saya” made of Philippine flag talked to this paper’s publisher about the tragedy that befell the MV Princess of the Stars. “Ayaw ninyo’g basula ang tag-iya sa barko, ayaw basula ang Pag-asa, ayaw pakasad-a ang bagyo,” the woman said. “Ang nahitabo pagbuot sa Makagagahom,” she stressed. The publisher took the woman seriously until she said: “Saon ta man, natripingan man ni Lord ang barko.”

SAVED ONCE AGAIN. A member of a Catholic Charismatic Renewal Movement was coming out of the Santo Niño Basilica when he met another Santo Niño devotee. They talked about the typhoon Frank. They both agreed that once again Sr. Sto. Niño spared Cebu from the wrath of Frank. “Wa kaayo’y danyos,” one of them said. “Didto sa Panay, si Frank midalag grabeng baha diin daghang panimalay ang nalapawan sa tubig. Daghan ang namatay.” So the other devotee said: “Magpasalamat gyud ta sa Senyor. Magpadayon gyud ta paghatag Kaniya sa atong pagsalig.”
