Tip for police: Weekends are busy days for commercial sex workers

FIESTA STRIP?. An Ear informer took a cab from his office past midnight last Saturday. When they passed by a barangay known as the red light district, the area appeared very busy with taxicabs lined in both sides of the street that the taxi the informer was in had difficulty passing through. Pimps and prostitutes were busy plying their trade. Business appeared to be brisk. The informer remarked to the cabbie, “Ah, mora mag pista!”

BUSY DAYS. The taxi driver told the informer that Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays are the busiest days in this area. “Ang pinakamingaw kanang Lunes ug Martes, kung dili ting suweldo. Puwerteng mingawa. Ang mga boring (commercial sex workers) manghagad na lang gud namo’g inom para lang malingaw sila.” The informer told the cabbie, “Nindot nang tip para sa mga polis Noy da.” To which the cabbie replied, “Kahibalo nang pulis oy. Nagpaka buta-bungol lang sila.”
