Writers urged: Write about interesting Philippine places

UNVISITED PLACES. A domestic traveller was heard expressing disgust over travel writers in the local newspapers who have writeen reams about foreign places like Spain, France, the US, Germany, Austria, Japan, Korea, etc. but have not written anything about Philippine places like Tawi-Tawi, Turtle Islands, Tablas, Bongao, Batanes, and other so-called God forsaken Philippine places. These are colorful places and many of our people still need to know about them, the traveller said.

NOTHING TO SEE? A travel agent told a local freelance writer that foreign travellers/tourists come to Cebu just once and don’t come back. Why? “There is not much to see here,” she said. “Just one visit and you see them all ... So no more need to come back for more.” She said that in Bangkok and Singapore tourist keep coming back because there are many things to see and everytime they are back they see new attractions.
