BELIEVE IT OR NOT. The Ear heard that schools and offices were affected by the “earthquake” text that has been spreading like wildfire since Tuesday afternoon. A doctor decided to close his clinic early last Tuesday when he received the text message about a 6.8 magnitude earthquake that was predicted to hit the country.
A mother of a nursing student also decided not to let her daughter go to school when she received the text Wednesdays morning. A cautious school administrator even called up a local media outfit to find out the validity of this text. An official of the school was heard saying, “Susiha kuno kung tinuod ni kay para papaulion nato ang mga estudyante.”
TERRORISTS. Many media outfits have dismissed this text as a hoax but it didn’t discount the massive effect of this text message to the people. When a nun heard about this text, she said, “Let us just pray nga dili ni mahitabo.
There is no harm in praying bitaw.” But an e-group composed of businessmen have labeled the people spreading this text message as “terrorists.”
