Letter To Th Editor - Do not judge

Day after day, we are served through the media the VSMMC's horrible scandal in the operating room. No one has been spared even the gay-florist patient. First, the hospital has been, justifiably, accused on deliberate serious professional faults. Then the patient, known under the name of Jan-Jan, got the salves from inconsiderate people including religious dignitaries.

What kind of society are we in? Insane, lacking respect and human dignity? Why throw the stone at Jan-Jan who probably suffers more than we can imagine from his act and its consequences?

Understand instead of blame, give a hand instead of reject, support instead of abandon.

Where is "Love one another" that we are preached?

Where is the teaching from Jesus through the Gospel from Matthew 7:1-5 certainly worth reproducing  hereafter:

"Do not judge, and you will not be judged; because the judgements you give are the judgements you will get, and the amount you measure out is the amount you will be given. Why do you observe the splinter in your brother's eye and never notice the plank in your own? How dare you say to your brother, 'Let me take the splinter out of your eye' when all the time there is a plant in your own? Hypocrite! Take the plant out of your own eye first, then you will see clearly enough to take the splinter out of your brother's eye."

When Jesus said: "Do not judge, and you will not be judged" was He implying that we should regard everyone's viewpoint equally?

And from John 8:1-11, "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone," is not speaking about judging when Jesus says that, Scribes and Pharisees, one by one each man dropped his stone and walked away.

Why are Christians so judgmental? Why not to find Jan-Jan and help him as much as we can  to overcome the trauma he is in?
