Writer disgusted his degrees were not included in his byline

- The Ear -

BEDEGREED WRITER. An article contributor to a local newspaper expressed disgust that the initials of his college degrees were deleted by the editor from his byline.

When the editor explained that it wasn’t the policy of the newspaper to include a contributor’s chain of degrees in his byline, the contributor said: “Ah, diay. O di ba inggit ka lang?”

LETTER WRITER. Clarification. The writer mentioned above was not actually a writer in the strictest sense of the word.

He’s only a letter-to-the-editor writer. In the writeup he sent to the newspaper editor, he wrote in three paragraphs about the uncollected garbage in his area. “Tingali gusto niya pahibaw-on ang basurero nga tulo ka buok iyang degree,” the editor’s clerk said.
