Cebuanos not standing up for Philippine national anthem during Pacquiao-Morales fight

LONE MAN STANDING. An Ear informer said that a group of people watched the Pacquiao-Morales fight at an upscale restaurant, including a police official.  When start of the boxing match was announced, everybody at the restaurant stood up and clapped their hands.

But during the singing of the national anthem, the police official was  the only one who stood up and even placed his right hand over his heart. The rest remained seated and looked like they didn’t seem to care. The Ear informer said, “Ang pulis ra gyud ang nitindog. Ang uban, wala gyuy respeto.”

SAME SCENARIO. Apparently this is the general scenario in other public places where the Pacquiao-Morales fight was aired. Another informer said that at a mall, only one person stood up for the Philippine national anthem, an ex-cadet of the PMA.

It should be recalled that The Ear heard the same complaint last year, also during a Pacquiao fight where only two people stood up for the national anthem. The rest of the group of people gathered at a hotel for the live telecast of the boxing match remained seated.
