Government officials failed to recognize this high ranking DOJ official

OOPS! A high ranking official of the Department of Justice in the region went to a government office to attend a meeting of the Visayan Sea Squadron recently. Unfortunately, the head failed to recognize the official. He introduced the said official as, “Here is our volunteer lawyer.” To make matters worse, a lady government official of the province introduced a lower ranking official as the DOJ representative, not the said DOJ official of a higher rank. A mediaman who witnessed this later told The Ear, “Paet! Wala man ilhi. Wa ra man sab siya mo react. Naghilom-hilom ra sa daplin.”

WALKING INMATES. An Ear informer said he saw three inmates, handcuffed hand in hand, walking from a mall along N. Bacalso going to P. del Rosario St. early morning the other day. He said the inmates were allowed to walk freely with the guard following behind them. The people who saw the handcuffed inmates were shocked and hastily steered away from them. The informer surmised that the inmates came from an out-of-town hearing but couldn’t understand why they were allowed to walk freely among the pedestrians.
