Man insists on trying out expired can of spaghetti sauce

- The Ear -

THE PERSISTENT GARDENER.  A woman was sorting out items to be thrown away when her gardener noticed a can of spaghetti sauce.  His interest was piqued and he asked his employer if the product was really expired. “Basta ako na na ilabay, expired na gyud na,” his employer said. “Tan-awon nato mam,” the gardener countered, “dili man na expired hangtud dili mag-burot-burot ang lata.”  “Hala, kuyawa gud nimo og sukaranan gud?  Hulaton man gyud nga moborot ang lata,” she replied.

ONCE ISN’T ENOUGH.  But the gardener said he was going to take it home and see if it was still good to eat anyway. “Ay! Ayaw na lagi.  Basin mahilo unya ka’g ikaduha,” the employer said. The gardener could only scratch his head.  He was one of the dozens of people poisoned when spoiled food was served during a burial in barangay Tisa a few months ago.  The news hogged the local dailies for a few days.
