Unwanted flowers on her husband's tomb

- The Ear -

JEALOUS WIDOW. A widow in her 50s visited her departed husband’s grave in one of the memorial parks in the city. She saw a beautifully arranged bouquet flowers on the tomb. She asked the caretaker who placed those flowers on her husband’s grave. When told that it was a young woman who did, the widow got mad. She knew who the woman was. She was heard saying: “Sus ang burikat bisan patay na ang akong bana giapas-apas pa gihapon. Uyab man to sa akong bana. Taga squatter area to.” The flowers were removed and scattered on the ground.

MORE EXPENSIVE. The caretaker said to the angry widow: “Taga squatter area diay to siya M’am? Ka-afford man lagig mahalon nga buwak. Ug di-awto man lagi.” It was learned that the flowers were placed on the tomb by the widow’s sister-in-law who brought the flowers all the way from Negros. The sis-in-law is indebted to the deceased who helped spend for her schooling. “Ambot giunsa niya pag-explain ang paglabay niya (widow) sa buwak,” the caretaker, the source of this story, said.
