ABUSIVE DISPATCHERS. Many PUJ drivers have complained to The Ear about what they called “abusive dispatchers” plying their “nefarious trade” in many parts of the city sometimes even under the noses of lawmen. “Mangolekta lang bisan way pasahero nga napasakay,” according to one aggrieved driver. “Naa say magpungko-pungko lang daplin sa dan inigkakita nilang puno na ang PUJ moduol sa drayber unya mangayog tong,” reported another driver. There is an ordinance prohibiting passenger dispatching — what happened to it?
CAN’T SAY NO. Most if not all PUJ and even taxi drivers admit they can’t say no to these dispatchers. “Kuyaw og imong balibaran...dumtan ka,” one driver said. “Daghan sa dispatser sa siyudad may mga patik.” Another driver said he once reported a dispatcher who had been molesting PUJ and even taxi drivers to a Citom traffic enforcer but the enforcer told him: “Dali itudlo kanang gireklamo mong dispatser. Nabuang siya. Iya kong ipakulata. Gusto niya mag-face-to-face mi sa abusadong dispatser nga giingong gradwado sa BBRC.”
