Elections are over, so enough of political talks. Here's one that can make your day, this blue Monday morn.
Somebody has said there are only two kinds of people in the world. There are those who wake up in the morning and say "Good morning, Lord," and there are those who wake up in the morning and say, "Good Lord, it's morning."

That one is from Nimrod who calls me his favorite ninong because he's also my favorite wedding godson. tit for tat. He, he, he!

Here's another one from Nimrod also. A parish priest (not from Minglanilla) announced after his sermon (OK, homily): "I have good news and bad news. The good news is, we have enough money to pay our new building program. The bad news is, it's still out there in your pockets."

Mayor Tom O is in the hospital. No, he's not in bad shape. He's okay, says TF reporter Garry Lao who had an exclusive interview with Hizzoner in his hospital room recently. Maybe Tom O is just sick and tired. Period.

It says here that Hizzoner has a problem with his leg. But he says it's not an "ailment" really, just an "issue" of whether he can stand or not. Dr. Pek Eng Lim, Tom's trusted doctor, had better fix that leg fast - the Mayor still haa to run the city for another three years.

It also says here that the doctor had assured Tom O he would be on his feet in a few days. That's also what a friend's doctor told him after he was bedridden in the hospital for two weeks. "I was on my feet, all right," said my friend. "But I had to sell my car before I could get home after being on my feet."

My Manila-based Cebuano friend Daido Angel said in a text message: "An international beauty said if there are no politicians Filipinos are a wonderful people." Sadly, we can never be a wonderful people because God has made so many politicians among us.
