Fire victims belittle slightly used clothing offered to them as donation

LOCAL "UKAY-UKAY". A businesswoman in the city's South District got mad at two women fire victims who went to her house to solicit help. The businesswoman was only pleased to be of help. She brought out several boxes of used clothing for the women to pick what they liked. Most of the clothing were slightly used. She heard one of the women say: "Ay, mga lokal man ni nga ukay-ukay...Reject man ni sa ilang pamilya." The other woman replied: "Bitaw lokal ra ni...tinahi ra ni sa Minglanilla."

EXTREMELY HURT. Extremely hurt by the women's remarks the businesswoman called her house boy and ordered. "Kuhaa nang mga kahon diha, dad-a balik sa kuwarto." And to the two women she said: "Mga lokal nga ukay-ukay ra man to. Sige pamauli na lang mo. Wa mi imported nga ukay-ukay." The women left, their faces as red as the fire that ate up their houses.
