EVEN THE MUSLIMS. Even the local Muslim traders are celebrating the Santo Niño fiesta. One Muslim shop selling CDS and DVDs was heard playing Santo Niño and Sinulog songs all day long last Thursday. An observer said, "Let's hope it's their tribute to the Santo Niño and not just a sales gimmick."
SHOWING THE BEST. Cebuanos, being the host to the Asean Summit, are showing the best treatment they could muster to their very important guests. No proverbial stone was left unturned to ensure the "super success" (to quote a radio commentator) of the international event. But there's a proverbial fly in the ointment - the militant groups who've been spending time, money and effort to rally against the Summit. "Ngano man ni sila uy. Ila man gyung pakauwawan ang Sugbo," an observer said. "Daghan ra ba nila dili Cebuaos. Gikan sila sa Luzon."
