DRUNKARDS' NIGHT. Last New Year's Eve was virtually the night of the drunkards. Drunks walking tipsy were noted on Colon St. and Osmeña Blvd. Also on Colon St. a drunk man was seen trying to molest a woman passerby. And a taxi driver reported to The Ear that a drunk passenger of his threw up on the seat of the cab. "Nganong di man ni panakpon ang mga hubog uy," the driver told a mediaman. "Didto sa may Salinas dunay usa ka hubog nga nabanggaan og motorsiklo natulimbang lagi sa karsada. Ingon sa akong pasahero mayra pero mas maayo kong natipi," the cabbie said.
COP "DISARMAED". Cops guns were taped at the nozzles to make sure that these were not fired on New Year's Eve. One police officer said: "Misis ko way kompiyansa nako. Iyang gi-take into custody akong service firearm atol sa New Year's eve celebration aron gyud di nako mapabuto." The wife returned to him the gun after all the noise had died down.
